Hi akhtar24,

 

Setting up your payroll to pay your employees directly can help you save time and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction.

 

QuickBooks Desktop makes calculating and running your payroll easy by doing the calculations for you. At this time the only method of payment through QuickBooks Desktop would be using cheques. If you wish to pay your employees using direct deposit I recommend looking for a third party app to help you with this such as Telpay. You can go to our app page to find one that will best support your needs but make sure you verify if it's available in Canada as the site has apps for both Canadian and American versions.

Does the desktop version not make an electronic direct deposit file?  I'm trying to determine if it is possible to avoid using a third party.

QuickBooks Desktop enables you to export various reports as CSV. files for your business needs. Here's an article for some payroll reports you have access to when turning on payroll, as well as how to customize them to your desire format: Customize payroll and employee reports
