Do we need to add the Dental Code to employees who were terminated in 2023?

Thanks for reaching out about your payroll. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees for the hours they've worked for your company. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with entering the dental plan for T4 purposes.

As per this article, all employees must have a code associated to the employee on their T4. To know which code you should be adding to these employees due to them already being terminated, I recommend speaking to your accountant. They'll be able to assist in making sure it's all correctly entered for previous employees. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks Online account by clicking on the My Accountant tab. There's also an option to find an accountant near you in that section by clicking on the Find a Pro to help button.
