Employee with a new SIN..?

We currently have an employee that had a temporary SIN, he recently attained his permanent residence status and was assigned a new SIN. 

 

Is it okay to just change this information within his profile?

Are there other steps involved?

Will this mess anything up when it comes to issuing ROEs or T4s?

Welcome to Community!  I'm happy to hear that your employee attained permanent resident status.  Updating their employee profile is essential, to ensure accuracy on QuickBooks Online Payroll forms.  I would be glad to point you in the right direction, so you can pay your staff with confidence!

 

When it comes to making changes to the TD1, you will be able to Additional income tax amount you want deducted from each paycheque, or mark the applicable Tax exemptions.  However, when it comes to editing the SIN, our QuickBooks Online Payroll specialists, will be able to update the information for you from the back end.  You can contact them at 1-855-253-1536 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 AM and 8 PM EST.
