Has anyone found a way to have QBO take care of tracking cross divisional labor costs?

Our company has 3 departments (divided into classes) and currently has to pull reports from t-sheets and do JE when an employee spends time working in another department. Is there a way to set up the systems to do this without the JE?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online has the features you need to record and track your transactions seamlessly.  Class tracking is a great way to get specific insights on areas in your business.  However, in your situation, I feel you'd benefit from using Projects.  I'd be happy to provide more information, so you can determine if it's a good fit for your business needs!

 

Projects is available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced.  This feature will be turned on by default.  You may need to upgrade your subscription, if the Projects feature is what you're looking for.  With Projects, you'll have the ability to add new and existing transactions to the project.  It also enables you to add existing timesheets, so you can track hourly costs.  Here's a detailed guide, for your reference, to learn more about Projects in QuickBooks Online.  Should you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.
