Question

Hi there, I am trying to run payroll for the first time and I selected direct deposit but when I review payroll it defaults to 'paper cheque'. How do I stop this?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to pay your staff with peace of mind.  Paying employees with direct deposit is valuable time saver.  I'd be glad to assist!

 

To ensure you've completed the steps for direct deposit, click here.  If this has been completed and you've verified the test transaction, you should be good to go.  However, I also suggest reviewing the mapping of your payroll accounts.  Here's how;

 

1. Open Settings ⚙, then Payroll settings

2. Select the Edit ✎ in the Accounting section 

3. In the Paycheck and payroll tax payments select Edit ✎

4. Use the Bank account ▼ dropdown to choose the preferred account 

5. Hit Save
