Hourly payroll deductions and contributions for union employees in QBO

How do I add hourly deductions and contributions in QBO payroll for union employees?  I was able to do it in QuickBooks online but only have options for a flat-rate or a percentage in QBO.

Hi Newtygirl,

 

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online offers a dynamic payroll module that allows you to pay your staff seamlessly.  I'd be happy to share more information for deductions and contributions so you're on the right track!

 

Having the ability to set up hourly rates for deductions and contributions isn't available at this time.  You can manually enter the amount once you've set up the item using the 'other deductions' option.  Here's how:

 

1. From the left menu open Payroll and then Employees

2. In the section asking if the employee has any deductions, click on the Edit

3. Choose Other deductions from the Deduction/contribution type dropdown

4. Select a type and give it a Name 

5. Select a $ amount, % of gross pay or None

6. Hit OK when done
