Hi HPCI,

I'm glad to hear you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll to easily manage your employees' wages. I know how important it's to keep track of your employees' status for a potential raise. I'll be happy to share more on this.

The audit log in QuickBooks Online is the best way to trace back your steps and monitor changes or updates that occurred in your books. However, changes such as editing an employee's pay type or pay rate will only include a Settings Change in the event list of your Audit log with the specific date and user associated with it. Because Settings change also appears when editing other information in your payroll, it's hard to tell what exactly was changed from that notification. In situations like these, you could perhaps explore your Payroll Detail report for that specific employee to easily see the progression of the pay rate included at each payroll and infer when a raise was done. Feel free to also explore any other payroll reports you'd like. In case you need assistance on how to run a report in the program, here's an article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
