Hi there,

Using the bank feed with QuickBooks Online is the best way to save time and effort when entering transactions or completing your reconciliations. I know how important it is to make sure you're able to match transactions with their record in QuickBooks. I'd be happy to explain how this process works.

With limited information and without being able to look at your specific account, it sounds like you're trying to match a bank transaction with two separate records in QuickBooks Online. If that's the case, you can use the Split feature to assign a transaction to two separate places. Here's more information about that: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

As explained in the article, here's how to split a transaction you're adding/matching from the bank feed:

  1. Start in the For Review tab.
  2. Select the transaction to expand the view.
  3. If selection is on Match, change it to Add.
  4. Select Split next to the Add button. This opens the Split Transaction window.
  5. Select the Categories (accounts) you want to split the transaction into.
  6. Enter an amount for each split.
  7. Add the Payee and Customer for each split.
  8. Select Save and add.

I hope this helps you reach your goal. If I haven't quite interpreted your question correctly, or if you're in need of any additional assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our tech support team. I'm confident our agents can get this sorted out for you in no time.

Cheers.
