Thanks for choosing QuickBooks Online to manage your books! I'm thrilled to see that you'd also like to take advantage of the payroll add-on service to track this data simultaneously with your other business data. I can absolutely show you how to add the payroll service to your account.

 

There are a couple of ways to add QuickBooks Online Payroll to your account. The first is through your account and settings, which can be done by going to the Gear icon, choosing Account and settings, selecting Billing & Subscription, and then clicking the payroll option. The reason it's able to be turned on here is because the Payroll add-on service has additional fees on top of your regular QuickBooks Online subscription fee.

 

The other place you can turn on this service is directly through the Payroll tab in the left menu of QuickBooks Online. Click the option to Set up payroll, and follow through the prompts to enter your data and get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.

 

You'll notice when you're going through the setup that there are two payroll options: QuickBooks Online Payroll and Wagepoint. The Wagepoint option is a third-party service that you can consider instead of QuickBooks Online Payroll, and the data will still sync with the program.
