How do I bank overtime hours for employees, to pay them out at a later date.

Currently we pay out OT every pay, but want to offer to bank Over Time hours for our employees to pay out at their request. Not sure how to do this on QBO Payroll.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Thanks for reaching out to us here. Being able to keep track of your employees overtime is important. I  can prove some information.

 

At this time, there isn't a way to record Overtime in QuickBooks Online. You would need to record this outside of QuickBooks. You also can see if there is a 3rd party app that will allow you to do this. You can find QuickBooks apps by clicking on the APP tab on the left side navigation tab. I can see how being able to record overtime in QuickBooks would be beneficial for you and your company. I encourage you to leave feedback by heading to the Gear icon and selecting the Feedback option. These comments are viewed and considered by our developers as they create new features and updates for QuickBooks.

How is this not a feature in Quickbooks online as this is a legal option allowed in Canada again?  A lot of government corporations allow staff to bank hours in lou of time off.  This should be a straightforward setup that is available.  I truly wish QBO would focus on making our lives easier to run our businesses rather than focus on how to make more money from us with less service.  Seems like that as they continue to change the payroll program and dangle carrots in front of us to try and get you to increase your package to minor upgrades at huge price increases.
