How do I enter back pay

I forgot to update my employees pay when min wage went up. How do I pay them for the back pay. I have read online how to do it but it there is no options that the menus say should be there. Im very frustrated.  This is what I found/.  I do not see any create another check area. I do pay them direct deposit so I am confused where I need to go to. 

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu and select Employees.
  2. Click Run payroll, then find the employee you want to pay.
  3. Select Create another check and enter employee compensation, including any salary adjustments, vacation or sick hours, and other payment types.

Welcome to the Community. Being able to run payroll is essential to ensure that your employees get paid. QuickBooks Online payroll is a powerful program that gives you the ability to pay your employees and track your remittances. I'd be glad to point you in the right direction to record the back up pay.

If you haven't run payroll for your employees, you can enter it by selecting the Payroll tab on the left navigation menu > choose Employees tab > click on Run payroll > adjust your pay period and the pay date > select Preview payroll > click on Submit payroll and Finish payroll.

If you have already paid your employees, you can add a cheque to the previous payroll to get the sum of the two pays with the current minimum wage. You can refer to the following steps to record this payroll.
 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu on the left navigation menu.
  2. Select Employees.
  3. Click Run payroll, then find the employee you want to pay.
  4. Choose the correct pay period and pay date
  5. Select Create another cheque and enter your employee information
  6. Click on Preview payroll > select Submit payroll and Finish payroll.
