I'm trying to process my employee T4 summaries and it asks for a T4 transmitter number. I'm wondering where I find that.

Hello Mizviggy,

I'm glad to have you with us and that you're working through your payroll forms and submissions to make sure you're getting it all taken care of. I can help you with this.

The transmitter number is a 6-digit number the Canada Revenue Agency would have assigned to you. If you're not sure whether you've been assigned a number, I encourage you to call the CRA to find out. Someone there will be able to let you know what your number is if you've been given one. Once you have it, you can put it in the appropriate field.

If you haven't been assigned a number, don't worry. There's a default number that the CRA accepts for you to use to continue with processing your forms. Simply enter 555555.

That should get you on your way! Have a good one. :)
