Hello diannamortensen-,

It's great to have you reach out to us here. The payroll module in QuickBooks is designed to help you manage your payroll entries with ease and I'll be happy to share more info so you're on the right path.

It's important to note that once you've set up your payroll, each time you decide to run it, the payroll entries will be allocated to the appropriate accounts. You can check these accounts to make sure they're appropriate to your liking by clicking on the Gear icon > Payroll Settings > Accounting. From here, you can select the accounts that'll be automatically affected when you run payroll. Otherwise, if you're referring to Auto Payroll, you can explore more about this by clicking on the Gear icon > Payroll Settings > Auto Payroll. Here's a helpful article with more info about Auto Payroll in QuickBooks

Give this a try and let me know what happens. I'll be here in case you have any other questions .

I gather you are talking about Quickbooks Online.

I am trying to change the payroll settings in Quickbooks Desktop.

I have two separate payrolls, but I want them to post to two separate expense accounts.

I can I do this.

Thanks

Janice

Hello JanLeigh. Glad to have you chime in on this thread. Just to confirm, are you using Direct Deposit?
