How do I input a missing payroll period for February?

Thanks for being a member of the QuickBooks Community! Ensuring that all pay runs are recorded correctly is an important part of the bookkeeping process. Using QuickBooks Online Payroll makes it easy to keep on top of your pay periods, but from time to time mistakes happen. I want to give you a hand with this.

If the problem is that you've forgotten to run payroll for a specific pay period, that's an easy problem to fix. You'll simply want to go through the steps to Run payroll as usual, then use the dropdown menu to select the Pay period rather than letting it default to the most current period. This'll be a fairly quick fix.

If you're missing a pay period from your Pay Schedule, or you haven't set up a pay schedule that encompasses a period you'll need to pay your employees for, you can navigate to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll settings. From there choose Payroll Schedules and use the Create button to enter one that meets the timeframe you need. You'll be able to select it on any given employee's profile by selecting them and editing the Pay section of their profile.
