Question

How do I see my employee's social insurance numbers? I need them to file their T4s for tax season but only the last 3 numbers are visible in their employee info.

Hi there Mad Lab Auto,

Filing your employees' T4 slips is an important part of managing your business. It's important that you have all the necessary information on hand when you start this process so that you don't get held up. Let me point you in the right direction.

When you entered your employees into QuickBooks Online Payroll, you would've had their TD-1 forms on hand. That's where your employees would write their social insurance number for your records. When setting up your employee profiles you would've entered all digits into the system, but for the security of your employees, QuickBooks won't allow you to see all digits again once it's been entered in. Luckily, your employee's SIN is already located on the T4 slip. You won't be able to see all digits in product, but it's saved on the form so that the CRA has all the information they need.

I know you'll get this sorted in no time, but let me know if there's anything else I can do to give you a hand. Enjoy the week ahead!
