How do I set up a new employee with a salary plus an hourly wage?

Hello thesquareriggerp,

 

Welcome to Community!  I can understand the benefit of being able to pay your staff, who work in different job functions at different rates.  QuickBooks Online Payroll, currently doesn't provide the ability to pay an employee salary and an hourly wage.

 

Please feel free to forward a suggestion directly to our engineers, by clicking the Gear icon, then Feedback.  In the interim,  you can use the Other earnings pay type, which are taxable, and separate from the regular wage.  However, you would need to manually calculate the dollar amount of the earnings, and enter it in the appropriate field when running payroll.
