Question

How do you all adjust the CPP and EI at yearend if they are out? Do you need to go through QB Payroll Care Payroll Correction to have someone do the adjustments?

Hello jryksen and welcome to the Community!

This time of the year is crucial for small-business owners, accountants, and bookkeepers alike. Completing year-end tasks can be time-consuming, so it's important that they're done correctly the first time around. It's good that you've spotted the error with your employees' CPP and EI amounts, the next step is to ensure that it's corrected. Let me point you in the right direction.

You got it right - you'll need to go through our team of QuickBooks Online Payroll experts in order to have these changes made. At this time, the wait for these edits is up to a minimum of 20 business days, so if you're able to make the changes manually when filing your payroll remittances with the CRA, I'd recommend that step so that you're able to meet your deadlines. If the wait time isn't of concern to you, what you'll need to do is reach out for support outside of the Community via one of the methods below. From there an agent will send you a form that you'll need to complete with the requested edits. Once you send that completed form back to your agent they'll be able to escalate it to the appropriate teams to make the changes.
