Hello silverbrookinc-g,

I appreciate this brief explanation of what's happening when you're trying to run payroll in QuickBooks Online. Pay periods are key for ensuring your employees are paid when they need to be and ensuring your remittances are calculated correctly. I can help with this.

When using QuickBooks Online Payroll, changing the pay period is fairly simple. When you click Run payroll, you should see a Pay period drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Here's an example from a test file of what that'd look like.

All it takes to change the period is clicking that drop-down menu and choosing the pay period you'd like. For a more step-by-step look at running payroll, check out our article How to create paycheques for all employees.

Give that a shot and let me know how it works out for you!
