How do you reactivate an inactive employee in payroll?

I was just playing around with the payroll system to see if it was something that would work for my business. I entered in an employee, but then marked as inactive and I can not reverse it. Someone please help me.

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to pay your staff with confidence.  When an employee is made inactive, you can set them as active again in a few simple steps.  I'll be happy to guide you!

 

Here's how to reverse an inactive status for an employee;

 

1. From the left menu, select Payroll and then Employees

2. Click on the Active Employees ▼ dropdown

3. Select All Employees

4. Click on the Employee Name and then hit the Edit ✎ next to Employment

5. Change the Status

6. Complete any additional fields as you see necessary

7. When finished hit Done

You're all set!
