I am not able to even add a contractor in QuickBooks,

Step 1: Add a contractor as a vendor

If you haven’t already, enter the contractor as a vendor in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Contractors (Take me there).
  2. Select Add a contractor
  3. Enter your contractor’s info, or select the Email this contractor checkbox so they can fill it out.
  4. When you're done, select Add contractor.

while following these steps my QuickBooks online is not showing contractors in payroll. so how can I add them and pay them through direct deposit, this is my desire and I need to pay my contractors through direct deposit.

please help me with this...

please help find out contractors' option in QuickBooks and how to pay them through direct deposit.

Hi manish,

Thanks for reaching out here.  QuickBooks Online Payroll is an awesome choice for paying your staff seamlessly.  You can also set up and pay contractors with peace of mind.  I'll be happy to show you how!

Based on the information you've provided it seems the article you're following isn't something offered in QuickBooks Online Payroll.  You'll need to set up the contractors as suppliers.  Here's how:

1. Open Expenses from the left menu and then the Suppliers tab

2. Click on New supplier

3. Enter the required fields

4. In the Additional info section, select Tracking for T4A or T5018

Note:  If you're not sure what form they should receive, consult with your accountant.  If you don't have one follow this link to locate a ProAdvisor in your area.

5. Choose the Supplier type (Individual or Business)

6. When finished, hit Save

You're all set and ready to pay the contractors by going to +New in the left menu and select Expense or Cheque.  You can select the Payment option using the ▼ dropdown menu.

Here's a detailed guide for your reference, to assist with using T4A and T5018 forms in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with other questions.  We're always glad to assist!
