How to update employees for the new 2022 exemption numbers?

Hi, @contact144. I can guide you on how to update your employees' exemptions for 2022.
 

In QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll, you need to go through each employee to change their exemptions.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click on Employees or Payroll at the left pane, then go to the Employees section.
  3. Select the employee's name.
  4. Under Edit employee details, select the pencil icon under the question What are (employee's name) withholdings?.CA_ L4AntPAy3_ paywitholdings.png
  5. Scroll down until you reach the Tax Exemptions section and select the dropdown arrow.CA_L4AntPAy3_tax exemptions.png
  6. Select the taxes the employees are exempt from.
  7. Hit Done.
  8. Repeat the same steps for other employees.
