I accidentally activated Quickbooks Payroll. How do I turn it off?

Being able to upgrade, downgrade or even just remove add on features is something that QuickBooks Online makes easy to give you full control of your account. I'd be happy to help you get your payroll disabled from your account.

 

Turning your payroll off is something that can be done by Primary or Company Administrator in a few quick steps. If you're unsure what your role is in QuickBooks Online you can check it by following these steps:

 

  1. Go to Settings .
  2. Under Your Company, select Manage Users.
  3. Find your user name, then check if you are a "Primary Admin" or "Admin" in the User Type column.

 

Once you verify you're the Primary or Company Administrator you can disable payroll by following these steps:

 

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Select Billing Subscription.
  4. In the Payroll section, select Cancel.
  5. Select Continue to cancel.
  6. Complete the short survey, then select Cancel Payroll Service.
