I am trying to set up Payroll and I have the online QBO guide. I clicked on Employees but I don't have "Set up payroll" on my screen. Did I don something wrong?

Let's go over and set up your payroll successfully, @lynn8.

 

You'll be able to turn on and set up your payroll by following these steps:

 

  1. Click on Employees at the left pane.
  2. Select Set up payroll.
  3. Review and select features, then select your payroll product
  4. Review the Terms of Service and select Turn On Payroll Now
  5. In the pop-up window, select Get started with payroll
  6. Enter information about your business and employees to set up your payroll account.

However, you might not have the option to set up payroll (Set up payroll screen is missing) due to the saved cache on the browser which causes performance issue while working with QuickBooks. For now, you can try logging in to your account using a private browser or another supported and start setting up your payroll from there. This helps verify if the problem is browser/cache related.

 

You can use either of these shortcut keys to access your account using a private browser:

 

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL  Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

If it works fine from there, you have to clear the cache of the browser you're using.
