Hello rose12,

Welcome back. It's great to see that you're still working with Payroll in QuickBooks Online! These kinds of errors sometimes occur and I have a few troubleshooting steps you can try to get the program to accept your city. I'll outline them below.

The first recommendation I have is to enter the city name in all capitals or all lowercase letters. I know it sounds funny, but sometimes doing this sort of thing works and the program accepts what you've entered. You can also try entering it without the punctuation after St.

The next recommendation is to review the address on the Canada Post website. QuickBooks Online's Payroll modules use the Canada Post website to determine if an address is valid. Typically, I give this recommendation when there's an error with the postal code, however, it doesn't hurt to see what city the website designates for your location. Here's the section of the website you can use: Find a Postal Code

If you're still having trouble, I have cache, app, browser, and Internet troubleshooting you can try to ensure that there isn't an issue with any of these things affecting QuickBooks Online's cloud hosting.

The final step to take is contacting support when the program still won't accept your city. There are a few ways to get in touch, so choose the one that works for you.

Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
