Question

I have a client that started using Quickbooks payroll online in May 2021 without entering YTD amounts. How can I enter payroll amounts from Jan to April 2021?

Hi there abezruc,

It's vital that all your payroll information is up to date so that your year-end forms will have the correct data. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to be able to help you keep track of amounts paid to your employees in order to be able to generate year-end forms at the end of the year like your T4 forms. I can provide some information about adding that year-to-date information.

In order to have these totals added to your employee's historical pay after having run your first payroll in QuickBooks Online, you'd need to reach out to our support team outside of the Community to submit a pay edit request. They'll be able to verify your account in the system in order to assist you in submitting that file in order for our pay edits team to make the correction in the system. You can reach out to them using one of these methods:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat
Social Media: FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out here.
