I have an employee who is taking an Unpaid Leave for medical reasons. Am I required out all accrued vacation prior to generating an ROE?

It's vital that all your transactions be entered correctly for your books to be well balanced. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees for their hours worked.  I can point you in the right direction for assistance with vacation pay.

To know it's absolutely necessary to pay out all your employee's vacation before going on unpaid leave, I recommend speaking with your accountant. Their expertise will be able to assist you in making sure you're taking the right steps so that you can place the employee on leave the correct way. You can invite your accountant to your QuickBooks account by going to the My Accountant tab and then entering their contact information. You can also find an accountant who has experience using QuickBooks by going to that section and clicking the Find a Pro to Help button.
