Question

I have an employee who was recently issued an 'Authorization to reduce Taxes at source' from Canada Revenue Agency. How do I implement this within Quickbooks?

Hi there mmcconnell,

It's vital that all your employees get paid the right amount for the hours they've worked for your company. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you pay your employees by either direct deposit or by cheque. I can provide some information about payroll taxes.

There isn't a way to modify an employee's default tax calculation, but you can edit an employee's deductions and company contributions for taxes when running payroll for the employee in question. When running payroll, on the page where you enter the hours and extra pay for your employees, you can click on the Pencil to the right of their name to edit the number of employee deductions, and employer contributions. This would need to be done each pay run for this employee.
