Hello michelle_m_spenc,

It's great to hear from you again, and I'm excited to see that you're still using QuickBooks Online Payroll! I hope the module has continued to serve your needs over the years and that the newest enhancements to the feature are making things that much easier. I'd be happy to guide your through making corrections in your pay run.

Since you say you've submitted the payroll to be paid out on April 5th, it sounds like you may be using direct deposit. If that's the case, I'm glad you're being mindful of that since it involves the actually processing of the funds in our system to pay your employees. When you run a payroll with direct deposit, there are a few things to keep in mind, namely the two-business day processing timeframe and the status of the pay run when you look at the Paycheque list just under the Run Payroll button.

The cutoff time for running payroll by direct deposit is by 5 p.m. PT two banking days before the pay date, meaning you'll also have to take things like banking holidays into consideration. Given the long weekend coming up, you'll want to keep that in mind as well. Our Direct deposit FAQs and How do holidays impact payroll direct deposit? are good resources for these kinds of details.

As for making corrections to the hours, if when you say you've just submitted it that you've quite literally just clicked to submit, you should still be okay to delete the pay runs and redo them. You'd do that by going to the Paycheque list page and selecting the cheque or cheques you'd like to delete, then choose Delete. You can then redo the pay run or the cheque(s) you need with the correct information.

It never hurts to double check on your payroll's status though, which our support team would be happy to help with. Our team has the tools to review the pay run from our end to let you know if there's still time to make the change or not, and what steps you can take if it is past the point of being able to make changes. Please don't hesitate to reach out using one of the following options.
