Question

I'm trying add employees to payroll & I've discovered that every time I click 'payroll, then employees', my invoice page pops up. Why & how do I fix this?

Hello troyinstall-well,

Thanks for taking a moment to explain what's happening when trying to add employees to Payroll in QuickBooks Online. Having it bring up the invoice page instead is certainly strange behaviour and I'm here to help you troubleshoot.

It sounds like your QuickBooks Online might have some cache issues that are causing this oddity. Temporary Internet files can build up in the cache and impact the way that the program, which is based in the cloud, operates. To ensure that everything is clear and facilitate smoother workflow, the following troubleshooting steps are useful.

Addressing the browser type, Internet connection, and even the device also play a role in this because they can also impact QuickBooks' functionality. For instance, if you find that you're able to work on one computer but not another, it might be something with the computer's settings that are causing the issue.

If those steps don't sort this out, gather the details of what you've tried and the results to share with the QuickBooks Online support team. With these details and the tools at their disposal, a member of the support team will be able to work with you so you can get back on track with creating your employee profiles and running payroll. Here's how to get in touch.

Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
