Question

I missed a payroll deadline for direct deposit and want to pay my employee by e-transfer to ensure they get paid on time. How do I record this in QB?

Hi userroger,

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online Payroll has the versatility you need when situations like this arise.  I'd be happy to help!

To keep your payroll calculations accurate, you'll proceed to Run Payroll in the usual fashion.

Here's how;

1. From the left menu, open Payroll > Employees

2. Hit > Run Payroll > Continue

3. In the Pay Method column, click on Direct Deposit and change it to Paper Cheque.

4. Proceed with > Preview Payroll > Submit Payroll > select Print pay stubs and then > hit Finish

5. Using the information on the pay stubs, you're ready to log into your bank's website and proceed to send e-transfers to your employees.  You can view the Employee Directory report and customize it to show the information that matters most.
