Question

I transferred my data from my desktop version to the online version but I cannot print any payroll information from 2019. How do I access my previous year payroll?

Hi there,

Moving over to QuickBooks Online is really exciting! You'll love the flexibility of the online platform. I know how important it is to get all your payroll information accounted for in the new account. I'll explain how this works.

When you move from Desktop to Online, most of your data can be migrated over. An exception to this is your payroll data. Since this isn't migrated over, you'll have to enter prior pay information manually when you start running payroll in QBO.

During the employee setup process, pay close attention to Question 7: How much did you pay [employee name] so far this year? This is where you'll enter the totals for the payroll you ran in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have a PDF of your employee's pay stubs, you can upload them to QuickBooks Online for your records by following these steps:

1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Attachments.
3. Click the Attachments box to upload the pay stubs.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please reach out to our tech support team.

Cheers.
