Hi there 4thurstons,

It's important for all your employees to be paid the right amount for their hours worked. QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great tool able to help you run payroll to calculate net pay and deductions based on their salary or hours worked. I can provide some information about employee rates.

In QuickBooks Online, an employee can be set up to be an employee paid based on an hourly rate, a salary which is set for a week, a month or a year. You can also set up employees to be paid their commissions only. There isn't the option to add a daily rate for an employee based on any amount of hours worked. If the employee works the same amount of days each week, then maybe a weekly salary could work.

I can see how being able to pay a daily rate would be an option that you'd like to see in order to pay your employees. I recommend you leave feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration by our developers when designing new features for QuickBooks Online.
