Question

Is anyone else in Ontario get hit with an incorrect CPP amount? I was just deducted 7.1% instead of 5.7% by QBO.

We want to make sure the correct CPP rate is applied to the employee's pay. If the CPP is not calculating correctly, there are a few things to check. Here are some:

 

  • Did the employee reached the annual maximum or wage cap?
  • Is the employee too young or too old? (Under 18 or over 70)

If none of the criteria applies to you and the system calculated incorrectly, I suggest reaching out to our payroll support for help.
