Question

Isn't there a way that QB can default to the last not completed payroll week instead of the next pay cycle. FIx this it is a stupid fault reported several times now.

Every time I do pay on the 16th since my hourly employees submit their sheets on the 15th QB defaults to the following pay cycle and doesn't notify me that I have skipped a pay cycle. It is enough to make me find another vendor.

Hello simon9,

Having the right pay schedule helps prevent issues in your books. Rest assured, I'll be happy to share more info and help steer you in the right direction. QuickBooks offers a dynamic payroll module and I'd like to help make sure you reap all of the amazing benefits it offers.

In case you need to change the payroll schedule, here's how you can do this in QuickBooks:

  1. Click the Gear icon and choose Payroll Settings.
  2. In the Payroll section, choose Payroll schedules.
  3. Edit your schedule and save.

Otherwise, I recommend manually processing the payroll so your books remain accurate. Here's a helpful resource that has more info about processing and managing your payroll in QuickBooks: QuickBooks Payroll help article hub.

Let me know if this info helps. Otherwise, feel free to reach back to me in the comments below. I've got your back.
