JE numbers do not automatically increase - why not? Option is checked for auto increase

Making sure that your journal entry sequence is correct can help keep your books organized. QuickBooks Online allows you to customize the numbers assigned to your journal entries in order to best suit your business. I can help you get to the bottom of this.

QuickBooks should suggest the next number after the journal entry you last modified. If this isn't the case, I recommend changing the number on the entry you're creating to the correct one in order to reset the sequence. The numbers should increase after you've done that correction. If the number for the following journal entry is still incorrect, it may be caused by browsing data. Cached images as well as tracking cookies can affect your navigation in QuickBooks Online, so here are a few troubleshooting steps to try to get this resolved:

• Clear your browser cache if you're using a browser
• Clear the app cache if you're using the QuickBooks Online app for Windows or Mac
• Try a browser if you're using the app
• Try a private browser window
• Try another browser type
• Make sure you're using a supported browser and system
• Reset your Internet or try on another computer or device
