Hello ed-carron,

I want to make sure you're set up in QuickBooks Online and are familiar with the tools in the program that can help you enter your data. Our goal with this software is to provide the features that keep these processes simple and I'd be happy to get you started with this.

From what you describe, it sounds like you may be looking to enter your expenses by digitally capturing the receipt image. If so, I'm excited to share the Receipts feature with you. This is available in all levels of QuickBooks Online and offers you the opportunity to easily take a photo of your expense receipt and create a transaction from it in your books. When you do that, the program also adds the image as an attachment to the transaction.

The Capture and categorize receipts and bills article is a great place to start to learn more and see the steps for how to use this feature. When using QuickBooks Online EasyStart, the one thing to keep in mind will be that you won't be able to use the bills side of this feature, but you'll still be able to enter the expense transactions.

If that's not quite what you're looking for, a QuickBooks Online support agent will gladly have a one-on-one conversation with you to help you find the solution for what you're looking to do. Here's how you can get in touch.

Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant> click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
