Question

Mark Single Time Activity as Taxable

There is no checkbox to mark time activities as Taxable in the Canadian version of QBO.

The checkbox exists in the US version .

Are there any plans to add this checkbox to "single time activity" in the Canadian version of QBO? I spoke to tech support on the phone and he said this was a "product limitation" of the Canadian version.

We would like this feature added so we can make use of the "automatically invoice unbilled activity" automation feature in advanced settings of the Plus plan. As it sits now, all time added automatically is marked as "out of scope" tax and we need to go into each invoice and manually adjust the tax line by line. This defeats the purpose of automation.

Hi there automation-maven,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your time activities. QuickBooks Online has the ability to help you invoice time activities to help make sure that your sales include the correct amount of hours. I can point you in the right direction.

I can see how this checkbox would be a feature that could help make the process of data entry go quicker. In order to possibly have it added in a future update of QuickBooks Online, you can leave your feedback by clicking on the Gear Icon, then Feedback. The comments made in this section are taken into consideration when the developers design new features for QuickBooks Online.
