Question

My payroll is not set up on time so I cannot run it through the online version of Quickbooks. How would this affect my online version if I run the desktop payroll?

Bank information won't be available for the next 3 days and I can't leave my employees without salary for that long. How should I proceed in this case?

Hi alejandra.rodrig.

Paying your employees is a crucial part of running any small business and QuickBooks makes it easy to help save you time. I'd be happy to help you with getting your payroll entered in QuickBooks.

If your payroll isn't set up yet and you wish to pay your employees through QuickBooks Desktop you can do so. Once you start setting up the employees however make sure to include the payroll information from that run in your Year to date amounts. Payroll year to date entries can only be entered when you first add an employee and set up their payroll information.

If you already created the employees and need to add this pay in QuickBooks Online you can just run an unscheduled payroll for the employees to have the information added. You can also contact our support team to adjust the year to date balances to include this pay run.

You can reach out support team using the following methods:

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help.
