Question

My quickbooks says I am unable to withdraw funds because a previous transaction did not go through. This is preventing me from running payroll. How do I fix this?

Thanks for reaching out here.  Welcome!  When you're not able to run payroll in QuickBooks Online, it can be quite concerning.  I would be glad to provide some insight here!

 

When you use direct deposit to pay your employees, the associated bank account will be debited for the payroll amounts.  If the debit fails, an email notification with details of the failed transaction, will be sent to the Principal Officer on the account, along with the steps to correct the issue as soon as possible.  Until the appropriate steps have been taken, to resolve the returned debit, your QuickBooks Online Payroll account will be placed on hold.  Click here, to learn how to Resolve a hold on your payroll service.
