Question

New to this. Payroll via Quickbooks.Remittances done to Canada Revenue Agency via bank. Do I need PD7A's submitted to match payments? As long as CRA is happy at T-4 time.

Hey mindfulloffood,

I'm happy to see you've been taking full advantage of how easy QuickBooks Online Payroll makes it to calculate and remit your taxes. This powerful system also equips you with the tools so you can easily produce and submit the required tax forms. This includes the PD7A, which most of our users are required to submit. For help in determining if you need to submit this form, please reach out to your accountant or the CRA. I'll be happy to help you produce this form in QuickBooks Online.

Producing a PD7A just takes a few easy steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Taxes.
  2. Select Payroll Tax.
  3. Under the Forms section, select Monthly Forms or Quarterly Forms.
  4. Select PD7A.
  5. Choose the desired time period you'd like to run the report for.
  6. Now you can view and print the form like you normally would, or archive it for later.

Your accountant is your greatest ally in making sure you're filing the correct forms. You can easily invite your accountant as a user to approach this together. To search for a pro in your area, simply head to the My Accountant tab in QuickBooks Online then click on Find a pro to help.

Hope this helps!
