One of my staff members will be getting paid twice for the same pay period - I need to cancel one of them and then I need to know how this happened so it won't again

Hello userrediscoverplay19,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I can see how a staff member being paid twice in the same period would be concerning when they're not supposed to be. I'm here to guide you to making sure this gets looked at as quickly as possible.

Since you mention that the staff member will be getting paid twice in the same pay period, it sounds like you may be using direct deposit with QuickBooks Online Payroll. If that's the case, it's important that we're mindful of the direct deposit status so we can know what steps to take to help you with this situation. Even if you're not using direct deposit, being able to look at your account set up with you will help us figure out what happened to cause the employee to be getting paid twice.

For that reason, I encourage you to reach out to our tech support team using one of the following methods as soon as you can. The agent will be able to ask you questions, pull up your account, and walk you through how to resolve this situation.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
