It's nice to have you here, @Kanch.

I want to help you remove your past payroll in QuickBooks Online. But before that, I need to know how your processed the paycheck, is it recorded manually or through Direct Deposit? Also, did you already close your books from the previous year? Any information will help me out.

For now, we cannot delete or void past payroll entries. If they are processed manually, here's how you can delete a pay cheque:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Employees.
  2. Under the Run payroll button, select Pay cheque list.
  3. Select the cheque to delete and click Delete.
  4. When prompted to confirm the action, select Yes or No.

See this link for more information about deleting paycheques: How to delete a pay cheque?

I'll be waiting for the additional details. I'll be right here if you need further assistance with payroll. Have a nice day!

Thanks Jen for your reply. We use QB desktop.  This payroll cheque was issued in Feb 2022. But never cashed it out. The entries was recorded to void it. However,  it was never voided in the payroll module. Currently the wages and source deductions are over stated in the payroll module. I am aware we can edit the payroll liabilities.  However, I need to know how to void the wage amount.

Hi Kanch,

Thanks for getting back to us here.  QuickBooks provides the option to void paycheques effortlessly.  Here's how;

1. From the menu, select Employees

2. Open Edit/Void Pay Cheques

3. Enter the date range to Show pay cheques dates from/through

4. Use the ▼ dropdown menu to Sort by Employee

5. Select the item and hit Void or double click on the item to open it and review the information and then hit Delete

If you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.
