Payroll - historical info (from Jan 1 to Mar 31) prior to using Quickbooks payroll April 1/2024

I started using Quickbooks with payroll on April 1 this year. I didn't enter any of the historical payroll info from Jan 1 to Mar 31/2024. Paycheques were generated from April 1 onwards  to October now so the employees' year to date figures were not correct. My question is: can I now go back to enter the first quarter's year to date payroll numbers? If yes, would it mess up with the year to date numbers that are in the system right now?

Thank you!

Hi PPMCKC,

Welcome to Community!  It's essential that employee year-to-date information is recorded, to ensure accurate calculations on all payroll forms, in QuickBooks Desktop. I would be glad to assist!

I encourage you to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll specialists outside of Community.  They'll have the ability to work with you personally, and enter the required information on your behalf.  You can locate the contact details here

If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out. We would be happy to help!
