Printing a Bonus Cheque for Employees on Auto Payroll

I want to print a bonus cheque in QuickBooks Online for an employee on auto payroll. When I print, it prints the paystub and not the actual cheque.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! I'm glad to hear you're getting use out of the Payroll module in QuickBooks Online as it is a fantastic way to work with your data along with the rest of your business' books. I'd be happy to guide you on printing a bonus cheque for your employee.

 

To print a bonus cheque in QuickBooks Online for an employee on auto payroll, follow these steps:

1. Go to the Employees tab and select Payroll.

2. Select Run Payroll and choose the employee you want to pay a bonus to.

3. In the Earnings section, select Add an earning and choose Bonus.

4. Make sure Paper cheque is selected.

5. Enter the amount of the bonus and select Preview Payroll.

6. Review the payroll and select Submit Payroll.

7. Select Print Cheques and choose the employee’s name.

8. Load the cheque paper into your printer and select Print.
