Question

Profit sharing bonuses that are not considered wages

Hello all,

We have a profit sharing bonus which is paid to employees. It is based off of company profitability and therefore is exempt from vacation pay calculations. (No need to argue this point, an employment lawyer confirmed).

In QBO, when we enter bonuses into payroll, there doesn't seem to be a way to prevent it from adding that amount to vacation accrual amounts. It shows in liabilities as vacation pay.

I could be just missing an option somewhere and could really use a pointer on this.
