Hi there,

Setting up an account for QuickBooks Payments is so exciting! You'll now have a quick and simple way to receive money from your customers, as they'll be able to pay online directly through their invoice. If you're having trouble setting up the bank account, I'd be happy to shed some light on what may be happening.

Based on what you've described, it sounds like you may be trying to set up Payments with a non-Canadian bank account. Canadian financial institutions and credit unions all use 5-digit Transit numbers based on my research.

Keep in mind that Payments can only be set up using Canadian bank accounts, and you're only able to process transactions with Canadian credit cards (Discover, Visa, MasterCard and Apple Pay).

If you're trying to set up a Canadian account and you're still having issues, please reach out to our tech support team so an agent can take a look at what may be happening.

Cheers.

Hi electrician123,

Thanks for joining us here.  It's important that you're able to sign up for QuickBooks Online Payments in a timely fashion, so your customers can pay their invoice with ease.  The Transit number will consist of 5 digits, followed by 3 digits and will appear as (00000-000).  However the BMO Branch number will be four digits.  You can retrieve the correct information from your bank's website.  Log into your bank's website, then select the appropriate account.  At the top, you should see an option to download a withdrawal or deposit form.  You can then save this to your system for easy reference.  I hope this helps!

Please don't hesitate to reach back out with any other questions.  We would be happy to assist!
