Employee is currently working at a physical location in BC and will be moving to Ontario but continuing to work for the employer as a remote worker. They will not be returning to the physical location but will join team meetings via Zoom etc

Hi cara10,

Thanks for reaching out here.  When an employee changes their work location, it's essential that the calculations are accurate on their pay.  QuickBooks Online Payroll calculates the appropriate taxes, based on government guidelines for each province.  To ensure you're on the right track with setting up your employee, please refer to the 2024 British Columbia and Ontario tax rates and income thresholds, as listed on the CRA website.

Should you have any other questions or concerns, I recommend speaking with an accounting professional.  They will be able to provide their expertise and best course of action.  If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.

Feel free to reach back out with any other questions.  We would be happy to assist!
