Hi,

I'm using Quickbooks Online and my payroll still using the tax table of 2021 for the pay checks dated in 2022!!
I noticed that the TD1 amount for federal and provincial is updated for the new amount of 2022 but the QC Pension Plan and the EI are calculated according to the tax table of 2021 !!

Can you help me to solve this problem please ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi, Christine. Let me share with you some information about the tax table update for 2022 and how you can handle your TD1 amounts.

The tax table updates for the 2022 tax calendar year will be made available in QuickBooks Online Payroll (Canada offering) on January 7, 2022. f you have a payroll dated in 2022 before the new rates are officially updated (January 7), then you may want to consider manually adjusting each employee's TD1 amount.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks.
  2. Click on the Employees tab under Payroll in the product.
  3. Open the Employee profile.
  4. Click Edit employee.
  5. Navigate to card 2, What are [EMPLOYEE NAME] tax withholdings? and click the pencil icon.
  6. In the Federal TD1 field, update this number to the 2022 desired amount.
  7. In the Provincial Taxes drop-down option, update the Provincial amount to the 2022 desired amount.
  8. Hit Done.
