Question

"The pay date is in a filing period for which you have already filed a form" error comes up but I have not processed any payroll for this period!

I was able to run my payroll ignoring this error but I wonder if anything would go wrong with the payroll.

Hi kamal-kataria,

 

Welcome to Community!  Ensuring your employees are paid on time is vital when running payroll and meeting the deadline.  Having a notification interrupt the process can be rather alarming when it indicates 'the pay date is in a filing period for which you have already filed a form'.  QuickBooks Online Payroll has recognized this notification previously and it won't affect your current submission.  I'd be happy to assist you with preventing this from happening moving forward.  

 

The message you're seeing is in association with a previously archived payroll tax form for the current year.  To view and delete the archived forms follow these steps:

 

1. Click on Taxes from the left menu and then Payroll Tax

2. Select Filing and then Monthly or Annual Forms

3. Hit View Archived Forms and make your selection

4. Hit Delete
