Trying to set myself up on payroll and it keeps telling me i cant have duplicate name for employer compensation....what does that mean and how do i fix it

It's a pleasure to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic way to pay your staff with confidence.  It's essential that you're able to add employees seamlessly.  I'd be glad to assist!

 

One of the first areas to mention is, ensuring that you're not already listed as an employee.  Here's how;

 

1. Open Payroll and then Employees from the left menu

2. Use the ▼ dropdown menu in the Active Employees field

3. Select All Employees or Inactive Employees

4. If you're already on a list of 'inactive employees' you can make yourself active again by selecting your Name

5. Scroll down to Employment Details and hit Edit

6. Change the Status and any other fields as you see necessary

7.  Hit Save
